AlpineRace Team Finland | SL Training Program U14– first year FIS
The Path to Elite-Level Slalom
A Goal-Oriented Coaching Pathway for U14–FIS Level – Maximizing Quality, Optimizing Cost
If success is your goal—our mission is to build the foundation.
Are you looking for coaching for your child (U14–U16 & first-year FIS athletes) that genuinely targets the international level, while offering your family a sustainable, supported path and financially sound solutions? AlpineRace Team Finland offers small-group coaching for ambitious young athletes, where quality, the individual development path, and sustainability are always the priority.
We don’t compare, we develop. An athlete's progress is always evaluated against objective progression standards and their own multi-year plan, not by comparison to other skiers. In our small group (max 12 athletes), every session focuses on quality of repetitions rather than volume, and all decisions prioritize long-term progression over short-term junior results.
The Core Five Pillars for This program
- DEVELOPMENT FOLLOWS A LONG-TERM, HIGH-PERFORMANCE PATHWAY
The objective is to support the athlete toward the physical, technical, and psychological demands of future high performance. - SLALOM IS THE CORE OF TECHNICAL DEVELOPMENT
Slalom guides technical growth. All training—including Giant Slalom (GS) and freeskiing—is designed to strengthen the specific skills required for high-level slalom performance. - COACHING IS COLLABORATIVE AND SUPPORTED BY OBJECTIVE ANALYSIS
The coach and athlete work in close partnership, utilizing individualized feedback, timing data, and video analysis to drive continuous technical development. - YEAR-ROUND SNOW TRAINING BASED ON A STRUCTURED PLAN
The program offers year-round snow training (approximately 110 full snow days) in diverse conditions (indoor training, Himos, Levi) to maximize skill density. - AFFORDABILITY AND ENVIRONMENTAL RESPONSIBILITY ARE CORE CONSIDERATIONS
All decisions prioritize accessibility and sustainable operation, maximizing developmental benefit with minimal financial and ecological burden.
Slalom Technique Drives Success
Slalom (SL) is the core discipline of our program. Our goal is to create a solid technical foundation for young skiers, providing them with excellent prerequisites to continue their careers at the international level and develop into elite-level SL athletes. We focus purely on SL specialization, and we do not include SG or DH to minimize injury risk and cost.
Structured Year-Round Training Season
The program offers a structured, year-round training pathway that includes approximately 110 full snow days. Training is executed in diverse conditions (indoor training, Himos, Levi) to maximize skill density and developmental benefit. Recovery and load balance are deliberately built into the preparation plan.

Sustainable Balance Between Sport and School
Athletic development is built on a sustainable foundation where school progress and personal wellbeing are primary concerns. A healthy and well-rounded identity outside of sport is key, as it protects the athlete's long-term motivation and mental balance. We support this balance: the coach can assist communication with schools and teachers, and weekly routines always include time for schoolwork, training, recovery, and social life.
Maximum Developmental Value and Cost-Effectiveness
We prioritize solutions where every euro invested produces real developmental value with minimal financial burden.
- Optimized Logistics: The annual program is designed to be efficient, minimizing unnecessary travel and maximizing snow and skill density.
- Cost-Effective Equipment Solutions: Required equipment is optimized for SL, and we guarantee the best pricing through our Rossignol partnerships.
- Time and Money Saving Services: The coach maintains the athletes' skis (in the hall), which simplifies family logistics and reduces overall costs.
- Transparency: We offer a transparent annual coaching fee. A detailed breakdown of the total program costs will be provided during contract negotiations.
Experience Guarantees Quality
Coach Mikko Peltonen is responsible for the coaching, bringing over 40 years of coaching experience and top-level expertise in the sport, technique, and equipment. He has coached several promising skiers, including Jukka Markkanen.
